From
the port we head north over the steep paved mule-path as far as the
new Church. Turning right we go down a slightly sloping paved path.
sheltered by a wooden fence. Then we reach Bazzina, the only flat area
at sea level
on
the is!and. with no rocky outcrops, but many characteristic
white-washed houses.
The
itinerary continues through lush patches of Mediterranean maquis, with
wide open views onto the other islands and the Sicilian coast.
